Objectives

The project has the following objectives:

1. Improve the floatability of plant-based tilapia diet (Susfeed) developed in an earlier project (https://susfeed.knust.edu.gh)
2. Improve culture environment for commercial tilapia pond production
3. Identify environmental and physiological cues that influence reproduction in African bony-tongue (Heterotis niloticus)
4. Develop protocols for larval rearing, weaning diets and establish nutritional requirements for larval and juvenile stages of the African bone tongue
5. Build capacity (researchers, students and industry) in improved aquafeeds for Tilapia and production technologies for the African bony-tongue
